I knew u would relate to the suju smut experience anu 😌 the way i got a crash course on kinks & secks reading eunhae fics.... [nods]

makes me think a lot about fetishization as an aspect of exercising power & upholding superiority.
Yes!! The language they used wrt Noemi’s appearance esp when the whole family first met her struck me as oddly familiar bc of how fetishistic it was, even tho I’ve never personally talked to anyone who spoke the way the Doyle patriarch did (i forgot his name lmfao) it was still very recognizable... like a bug enthusiast staring down at their prized cicada shells collection & getting sexually aroused skfdjfj bad metaphor but that was the vibe i got lmfao 🤮 also i feel like there’s definitely more to be said abt the Doyles maintaining a sort of immortality thru mushrooms (I just keep thinking abt the ā€œyou cannot kill me in a way that mattersā€ tumblr post lmfao) & the ouroboros symbol + the cannibalism & ALSO THE MISOGYNY I ALMOST FORGOT ABT THAT (jfc rip Agnes) & how those tie in to the running commentary on white supremacy beneath all the spooky gory bits but I didn’t think too hard on those when I was speed reading... 😹 maybe on my reread of it lmao!

THANK YOU FOR VALIDATING MY INEJ/KANEJ FEELS i too initially had high hopes for inej, which might have contributed to how much my view of her soured as the story went on LMAO. But she fr started out being one of the more compelling characters to me until the author started leaning way too heavily on themes of empowerment & agency for inej’s characterization that, like u said, was just whack considering the setup 😭 like, it was so hamfisted at times that there were passages in CK especially where she felt less like a character to me & more like a vessel for Themes & Ideas, on top of having her constantly doling out Words of Wisdom to other characters as if she was that much more enlightened than everyone else?

with their history imo it would have made sense for her to stay with him out of loyalty without it being a point of feminist critique that she's giving things up for a man
ALSO YES THIS MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME DW i didnt know how to say this when i was writing my thoughts out but u did it perfectly THANK YOU !! And i mean, i wouldn’t have minded her making the decision to leave ketterdam either tbh, i think there could’ve been loads of interesting reasons for her to stay or leave, all of which could’ve had some feminist overtones (or undertones if the author knew how to write that subtly lmao) to it, but i also just felt it was kind of... unfair? for inej to be able to find a purpose beyond her loyalty/desire for kaz when kaz never gets to have this sort of character development of his own? like in CK literally the only thing he thinks abt is inej, he pushes so many ppl and things aside for her, he even seems to knock down his revenge plot for jordie down a peg to place inej above everything else, & this is supposed to be... a good thing, i think? or at least that’s what the book seems to want me to think? that he’s growing & healing & learning to be a better person... by changing to become worthy of inej? 😩 not very feminist imo to have this much of an imbalance in their relationship lmao..... now its my turn to wonder if that made sense but i think we are both on the same wavelength for this so i will just throw all caution to the wind & hit reply 😹
